Weekend Warriors

It's the first sunny day in almost 2 weeks.  I can see the green in the foothills and snow on the mountain peaks.  It is supposed to be 72 degrees today and we have those bright, puffy clouds in the sky.   It's beautiful!  What am I doing?  I'm stuck inside.  T minus 18 days until the big move.  I've reorganized the hall closet, down-sized our bedroom closet, cleaned the floors, and I'm about to go to storage to work on packing more of our winter clothing into our tiny little storage locker.  Grrr.  Wish I could go for a hike today instead.  Oh well, a few more hours and then David arrives at the airport.  We have tickets to the long-awaited U2 concert tonight!  My dream concert!  Bono!  Swoon.

According to my timeline, we have started week 9!  This means our baby is 1 inch long, about the size of a grape.  We had a little bit of a scare this week.  I found out I had a subchorionic hemorrhage which fortunately stopped quickly on its own.  Baby Behr looked great on ultrasound - growing well and heart beating at 176!  Baby and I had to make a pact after that though.  No more scary stuff!  Mama doesn't need any more anxiety.  Essential body parts are accounted for, though they'll go through fine-tuning in the coming months. Baby's heart is almost finished dividing into four chambers, and the valves are starting to form — as are baby's tiny teeth.  The embryonic "tail" is completely gone - thank goodness.  I think this amused David.  The external sex organs are there but won't be distinguishable as male or female for another few weeks.  I think we've decided to keep baby's sex a surprise.  Baby's eyelids are fused shut and won't open until 27 weeks.  We'll keep ours closed until baby is born, so we have one more thing to be excited about during the laboring process!   Speaking of labor - our due date was calculated as Christmas Day!  Baby could have the same birthday as cousin Adele or cousin Jack!

A little birdie told me someone else is also pregnant!  Can't wait to celebrate the news next month!
