Tribute

Happy Memorial Day!  Thank you to all of our veterans and those still serving our country at home and abroad.  We owe you a huge dose of gratitude for your bravery and honor.  If you know a soldier, airman, marine or sailor, please thank them for their service. 
This Memorial Day weekend, David and I had a little fun and still managed to get some work done.   I organized a surprise (early) birthday event for him so he'd have the opportunity to celebrate with friends before we left for Minneapolis this summer.  It was called his Hole-in-Forty-One Party.  Yes, you got it - there was some golf involved.  David only knew that he'd be spending the day with me.  He didn't find out until Saturday morning that we were playing golf that day.  Surprise!  And when our friends Leo and Dan showed up at the course to complete the foursome, surprise again!  It was so fun to organize this for him and watch his face when people started showing up!  And how nice of David to let me beat him on his birthday round!  (hee hee)  He likes to claim that I bamboozled him.  Golf is a game for ladies and gents, my love; I'm no swindler!  Thank you to our friends, Leo and Cristin, for hosting his dinner party, and to Lindsey for driving ALL THE WAY north to join us!
Today, we spent the morning working our way through more bins, boxes, piles, and stacks.  Another trip to Goodwill, another dent in the closet.  We're a few steps closer to our nomadic journey, our minimalist lifestyle.  I'm feeling lighter! 
A special Happy Birthday to Anitra!  Thank you, Anitra, for sharing your birthday weekend with David this year.  So happy we got to hang with Brodi while you and Dan enjoyed a night out!  We had a great time in the park with you and your friends too.  Glad the weather held out for your picnic, even though it threatened loudly!
