On Friday night, we took the boys to Gateway Discovery Museum, downtown Salt Lake. I'd been telling Max all day that we would be able to see the dinosaurs...and when we got there and asked what floor the dinosaurs were on, we didn't like the answer we got. NO DINOSAURS! WHAT?? NOOOOOOO! Fortunately, we were able to distract Max with all the other cool stuff - a real Flight for Life helicopter with simulator on the helipad terrace attached to a play-sized Children's Hospital. So cool! A pneumatic tube system that sends balls flying around the room. A kid-sized grocery store and construction site. What a blast!
We've also been busy practicing balance on Max's new Strider bike. I knew he'd get the hang of it quickly, but in the last week with all the rain, he's only gotten outside 3 times for a total of about 1 hour of ride time. He's quickly gaining confidence and speed on this bike and it won't be long before he's cruising ahead of us.
On Saturday, we tried out a new park. We happened to be playing when a fire truck and ambulance pulled in for some training runs. Max rode his bike over for a tour of the trucks. Here's a picture of us in front of the engine. Cole is on my back but preoccupied with the flashing lights.
Last, but not least, here are pictures of Max and Cole making their Mom's Day gifts for Grammy, Nana, and their godmothers. Max made a card and breakfast for me today too!
Happy Mother's Day to our mothers, godmothers, aunts, sisters and friends out there. For all of those women who mother us and love us, teach, encourage and support us in so many ways. Thank you. We love you.
After Salt Lake City, where will we go? Here's a hint.
Next post, I'll add pictures from Easter...
