Merry Belated Christmas!
I'm behind in my blogging, but not for the reason I'd like. We are a few days past my due date now and the doctor says there has been no progress in the last week. It has been somewhat disappointing and I'm getting a little impatient, mostly because we're so anxious to meet our little one. I really can't complain about my pregnancy otherwise. I'm still happy and certainly not miserable. But, I'm a little worried that the longer we go without progress could make interventions more likely. We'd like to avoid interventions, if possible, however, I'll be ready for induction if that's what it takes and especially if that is what baby needs.
I've gotten lots of advice on helping baby to arrive: Raspberry leaf tea, acupressure spots, quinine (in tonic water), bumpy car rides, long walks, belly dancing, even trying castor oil. Ick! We decided to give the acupressure a try tonight. After doing some "research" by watching a you tube video and consulting the Ancient Chinese Pressure Point map at the storefront we passed tonight, David applied pressure to two zones for 10 minutes each. These zones are supposed to allow the baby to drop. I actually did get some pressure and the baby got pretty active, but we aren't sure if it was the Eastern medicine or just the right time of night for baby's movements.
My Mom is in town visiting and we've been staying busy with lots of activities. I'm hoping she gets to meet Cubbie before she leaves on Jan 1, but if not, we'll have to plan another trip out for her in the early part of the year.
Hey guys, we are thinking about you!!! Baby Behr will be here any DAY now and we can't wait to hear the news!! Keep us posted via texts and emails with lots of photos!! Love, Annie & Paul
